Yes, nature’s beauty will begin to bloom and my allergies will make me miserable. So the outside will be pretty looking but how about the inside of our homes? Here in PA the winter was weird we had days that were sweater weather, jacket day, and holey moley it’s brick(super cold) outside. Many days were spent indoors with those weird days there was the flu, common cold, and even strep throat sicknesses in my house. Time to do that Spring cleaning thing we all love ooooh so much!
My list of Spring Cleaning Tips
- Declutter – Every room in the house has some form of unused item or is just plain- ol-junk. Throw it away if broken or if it is in good condition but serves no purpose in your home you can sell it online or yard sale. If that is something you’re not into donate it!
- Indoor Window Treatment- I do this every season! Take off the curtains/drapes and get them washed. If you have miniblinds dust them off and clean the windows shiny because you’ll want to open the windows for that nice Spring Breeze.
- Clean up walls- This is a hard one for me because my son thinks that the walls are a nice canvas to do art with dirty hands and feet. I watched a video years ago on Instagram of how to use an O-cedar mop to clean the walls and door I wish i could find it or maybe I will have to do a video like that to show just you. Just fill up the buck with water and w.e cleaning solution you like and put the mop in it, spin the mop, and start mopping the walls lol it’s that simple and it works wonderfully.
- Fixtures or Ceiling Fans- Maybe this is something you do on a regular basis but not this gal! This is a Spring and Summer Job (no shame plz). Dust them off I have done this trick I found on Pinterest where you get a small handheld bowl fill it with water and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil, use an old washcloth dab it in and wipe the surface with it. Let me tell you I would dust bookcases, TV stands, and accent pieces with this trick and I would not see dust again for almost a week.
- Kitchen- This one needs its own list lol
- Get rid of EXPIRED ingredients in the cabinets and refrigerator
- Take everything out from the fridge and freezer and clean it (I use water a some Dawn)
- Take everything out of the cabinets and clean them up (-they sell cabinet cleaners depending on your cabinet type or just use water and vinegar)
- De-clutter those Cabinets(old mugs, cups, plates, silverware) that you do not use
- Time to tackle that stove and oven. (hire someone lol jk) This is one of my least favorite chores I feel like it takes hours. Most stoves come with that self-clean option yet I’m not a fan. Use water, dish soap, vinegar, or baking soda. Do the best you can. (Pinterest has many videos on how to get stoves cleaned up nicely)
That’s my list folks. I am sure looking back at this I missed a few things but these are my essentials.
Happy Cleaning!
